Halfway To A Year

1/2 of a year. My Baby is 6 months old. In just a mere repeat of the last 6 months, she'll be a year old. I am in awe of the little lady she's already become.

In her first 6 months, Mady has gotten her first tooth. She can sit unassisted and can roll from back to belly and belly to back. (Although, she HATES rolling belly to back and rarely does it.) She can army crawl to toys she really wants to play with. She thinks her Daddy is the funniest thing in the world. Her face lights up at the mere mention of him. Mady is starting to notice Bailey, but Bailey still runs in the other direction. She's eating rice cereal and has tried sweet potatoes. She takes roughly 36 oz. (6 bottles) of breast milk per day. She's gotten her first case of hives.

Mady's favorite toys are her soft blocks, her doll Suzy, any type of ball and her Sophie. She is starting to get tired of her Exersaucer, but, still tolerates it. She's a big girl in her high chair and will play in it for a while after she eats. Mady has been swimming once and loved it. She's making her first road trip to Chicago tomorrow. There she'll meet all of Mommy's relatives and a lot of Mommy's girlfriends. She'll take her first visit to the zoo.

We're working on sippy cup usage and putting consonant/vowel sounds together. She kisses on demand. (If you call sloppy, open mouthed nomming of your face a kiss. We do.) We're working on hugs. Mady enjoys Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and was in awe of the "Be Our Guest" scene in Beauty and the Beast.

Mady still won't sleep through the night. She also won't sleep unswaddled, but we're going to tackle both issues once our vacation is over. She is in 6 months shirts/onesies but 3 month pants. Skinny little thing. She seems to have had some kind of growth spurt because she can see out of the Ergo carrier now. She giggles when she passes gas. (It's TOO funny!)

So many milestones already. I can't wait for the next 6 months...let alone the rest of her life.

We did a half cake for her tonight....Pictures of that once we're back from Chicago.
