Ugh. So, we've had this renter in our Chicago house for the past year. She's been a great renter. Rent always on time, no problems at all. Until now.
It's come time for her to either renew the lease or move out so we can get new renters in the house. She won't answer or return any phone calls. At all. This means, we don't know if she's planning on staying, we can't put any potentially new renters through to look at the house without notifying her....it's ridiculous. Honestly, I have a feeling that she's already moved out of the house. Why else wouldn't she be returning our calls?
This is a 50+ year old woman who won't even return a phone call. If she's moving out, we don't care...we just need to start getting people in there in the hopes of having them rent. If she's staying, fantastic.
People are dumb.
**Edited to add: Yes, we have a lease. Yes, she's due out at the end of the month per the lease. But, we'd like to talk to her to know her plans so we're not going without a renter for an extended period of time.**

ReplyDeleteso annoying! we have a similar situation but one of our tenants moved out and didn't say anything. our property manager is already busy trying to get it filled but it would've been nice to know formally in advance :-/
